In honor of Oktoberfest, adidas created the perfect sneakers to party
Adidas just announced the release of a brand new model of Sneakers called Pröst in honor of Oktoberfest, a German festival known worldwide.
Oktoberfest is the world’s largest Volksfest (beer festival and traveling funfair). It happens annually in Munich, Germany. It lasts 16 to 18 days, from mid or late September to the first weekend in October. The Oktoberfest takes place since the year 1810. The event is known for the large quantities of beer consumed: during the 16-day festival in 2013, for example, 7.7 million liters were served.
This year, Adidas wanted to celebrate the festival and released a brand new version of the classic München model, with a special coating, called DPBR (Durable Puke and Beer Repellent). Engineering and design collaborating!
This means that you can hit them with vomit or beer. Nothing will change their appearance. They will still look perfect. These shoes which will certainly come in handy while attending the world’s largest beer festival.
Adidas ‘Pröst’ sneakers are influenced by Bavaria’s famed lederhosen leather pants, taking design cues from their functionality and tough leather construction. A custom inscription above the classic three-stripes reads ‘pröst’ in gold lettering, which means ‘cheers’ in German.
The launch of the Originals Munchen Oktoberfest is on Sept. 2 and the retail price is €200. Some limited edition shoes will come with a liter of beer, for testing, says Adidas. We can’t wait to try them on!
