FILA made a huge fashion comeback, we tell you why
Fashion is cyclical, there is no doubt about it. Every year, we see runways fill with trends that were once popular in the past. For a long time, the 60s, 70s and 80s were the focus of these fashion returns to the past.
However, what is hot at the moment is 90s and early 2000s-inspired street style. Brands such as Champion, Dr. Martens, Polaroid and FILA are some of the reasons for these vintage obsessions.
The curious thing is that the youngsters are now using trends that were last popular when parents were their age. The brand initially made clothing for the people of the Italian Alps.
Through the nineteen-eighties, FILA produced mostly tennis apparel. Its key brand image was the classic tracksuit. This piece was seen on rappers such as LL Cool J and Run D.M.C., that popularized the tracksuit.
Then, the brand entered a dark hole and, for years, there was no sign of FILA in store hangers. Now, FILA has made a huge comeback, manufacturing sportswear for men, women, children and athletes.
Now, superstars like Beyoncé have been photographed sporting the brand’s name on clothing and sneakers, making it a hit. We do not know if FILA’s success will last, but we will be attentive to the course of the brand!
