E.A.R.L.: Technology combined with design
When Nike announced the new HiperAdapt 1.0 sneaker back in March the sports world became a frenzy. The HyperAdapt or the E.A.R.L., for Electro Adaptive Reactive Lacing, as is a true innovation in the world of sneakers.
These sneakers have a underfoot-lacing mechanism that automatically tightens the shoe to a form fit. There are two fitting options, tighten or loosen, and you can switch between them by just pressing a button.
Each sneaker features a hidden sensor with connection to a battery motor and cable system, that is programmed for a personnal lock down onto the foot. The battery has a two-week autonomy.
The fresh Nike HiperAdapt 1.0 is the result of years of digital and technological research. In addition, it was a dream of many decades. Nike has been trying brand new mechanical, electronic and digital solutions, in order to combine design, comfort and technology.
The new Nike HyperAdapt – or E.A.R.L. – reaches stores on November 28th and you can purchase it in three colors: deep black, crisp white and smooth grey. This is definitely a step closer to the time where laces will be an item of the past.
