A new version of the Nike Cortez by Kendrick Lamar

The new collaboration between Kendrick Lamar and Nike is called “House Shoes”. This is not the first time rapper Kendrick Lamar collaborates on sneakers with Nike. Actually, it is the fourth time.

Once again, the rapper uses the Nike Cortez classic silhouette for its designs. However, this time it is a different kind of shoe. Lamar stated that “House shoes have always been part of LA culture” so he wanted to make a cool version of house shoes.

In case you are wondering what House shoes are, here is the deal. House shoes are basically shoes that are basically slippers but are built to resembles something other than a slipper. That is, for example, sneakers that are intended for the indoor and comfort of your home.

Lamar says that the intention behind these sneakers is to keep the ease and comfort of a slipper, but allow people to feel cool. Also, create house shoes that you can actually wear outside of your house if you desire.

In terms of design, the biggest news is that Lamar removed the laces of the Cortez, presenting the Cortez Basic Slip. The low-top laceless sneaker features an oversized, padded tongue with the words “HOUSE SHOES”. The Swoosh brand appears on the sides of the shoe, alongside with more Nike elements on the heels and insoles.

The sneakers come in a white, wolf grey, turf orange and thunder blue colourway. The House Shoe can be yours for a price of 100 USD. It will be available for purchase at selected retailers such as Titolo, Concepts, Hanon and Billy’s Tokyo.
