Reebok and Cottweiler got inspiration from The Marathon des Sables
Reebok and Cottweiler collaborated again to make the most amazing collection. The new gear takes inspiration from the Marathon Des Sables, a six-day trek through Morocco’s Sahara Desert.
The collection features comfortable sportswear with an avant-garde look, resembling a little bit the clothes worn in Mad Max universe. Moreover, the collection features packable, weather-adaptable and UV resistant fabrics.
There are T-shirts, shorts, lightweight hoodies, track pant, all channeling tones of sand and volcano. Moreover, the two brands shot the lookbook in a desert in order to better showcase the technical properties of the pieces of clothing.
My favourite piece of the collection is the Sahara Hat, a piece made from layered poly-tech fabric. Also, it features a removable mask with drawstring.
Marathon des Sables is a six-day, 251 km ultramarathon, which is approximately the distance of six regular marathons. The longest single stage is 91 km long Reebok needs no introduction. The brand is a global athletic footwear and apparel company, and a subsidiary of Adidas since 2005.
Finally, the Cottweiler collective is formed by Ben Cottrell and Matthew Dainty and dedicates not only to designing fashion, but also films and installations.
