Louis Vuitton designed a very special trunk to carry footballs.
Luxury brand Louis Vuitton produced the official case for this year’s World Cup for the third time.
On Sunday, July 15, right before the kick-off, Russian supermodel/activist Natalia Vodianova and FIFA Legend Philipp Lahm will come to the pitch at Luzhniki Stadium with the FIFA World Cup Original Trophy in the exclusive travel case designed by Louis Vuitton.
Moreover, a fun fact: the FIFA World Cup Original Trophy measures at 36 cm in height, weighs about 13.6 lbs and features solid 18-carat gold with a base of semi-precious malachite.
The French house also produced a special edition that it will auction for charity. The new FIFA special edition trunk will feature re-editions of the 14 official match balls that have been used at World Cup tournaments since 1970. Adidas created all of the balls that fit in the case.
All the balls will have signatures by a player from the team who won the World Cup that year. The balls are, of course, official replicas. 13 of the match balls are historical pieces, but the number 14 is an additional football by Louis Vuitton.
Louis Vuitton created only 25 trunks, making it a super special edition. The Louis Vuitton trunk auctioned on July 12 for 300 thousand dollars. All proceeds going to the Naked Heart Foundation charity.
