Snapchat’s first hardware product
Snap Inc., formerly known as Snapchat, has announced its first hardware product, Spectacles. Spectacles are sunglasses which record videos and send them to your snapchat memories via Wi-fi. For Android devices, the videos are transferred by wi-fi, but in iOS devices, they are transferred by default via Bluetooth.
Spectacles record 10-second videos automatically, but you can add another 10 seconds if you want by tapping the recording button on the sunglasses. The sunglasses’ camera has a 115-degree lens that is more close to the human eye vision.
You know you are recording thanks to two lights that turn on when you’re snapping, one for you and one for anyone in your field of vision.
The glasses, who have no release date yet – but are expected to be for sale “soon” -, will cost 130 dollars, and come in one size. You can only choose from three colors: black, teal, and coral.
Snap Inc. will produce the glasses in small quantities, but no more details were given relating the release date.
