Xiaomi recently announced the arrival of Mi Band 3
If you are looking for a new cheap fitness tracker, the new Xiaomi Mi Band 3 may be perfect for you.
Technology giant Xiaomi just announced the launch of Mi Band 3, the successor to Mi Band 2. Mi Band is a smart device that counts calories, measures steps, distances travelled among others. The bracelet has Bluetooth 4.2 and works with Android from version 4.4 and with iOS devices from version 9.0.
In terms of design, it resembles more a fitness tracker than a smartwatch. The band is really thin and elegant. You can change the bracelet whenever you desire, choosing between various colours like black, orange and blue. According to the brand, the bracelet is waterproof up to 50 meters deep. This means you can track swimming lessons and heartbeats in the shower.
The tracker features a heart rate sensor that works for the whole day and keeps a track of changes in your beats per minute. You can also set up your own goals and be buzzed if you’re near to reaching them. You can receive notifications through to your wrists such as your calls, text messages and certain messaging apps.
Also, it is possible to set up event reminders, alarms and weather forecast to make them easy to view on your wrist. Comparing to the previous model, the screen is larger and has a better resolution.
Some people are considering this an important detail: there is no GPS included. Although that is something that would not dissuade me from buying it, I definitely consider that a negative aspect. This means you won’t be able to track location for an accurate distance measurement.
